Okay...let me be totally honest and unbiased with you. Even if it hurts you or makes you feel demotivated for a time being but will help you to move forward in the long run.
When I was new to my storytelling career, last year, things were not working well for me. Especially when I decided to leave that well-paid marketing job from a fresher point of view.
The market was harsh to me in the beginning. And day by day...a feeling of “I’m not enough” was getting stronger distracting me from taking actions that might fail.
“I’m not experienced enough"
“I'm not knowledgeable enough”
Thoughts similar to those were stopping me to do the real work and widening the gap between where I’m to where I want to be.
And to bridge the gap...I was attracted towards some books, some coaches, some seminars, some communities just to have the feeling that “yes, I’m enough” however again, it lasts only for a short period and everything goes back to normal.
At times, if I couldn’t find the right solution for “I’m enough” I jumped onto the next thing...and next thing...and again the next thing that leads me to get nowhere. All because I was thinking that the next shiny thing might be the only way to get me across the gap to where I want.
And honestly, it won’t.
We humans usually get into this trap for finding our “enough” from another book, course or whatever.
But the truth is, at the end of the day, we’re still unhappy and unsatisfied. The desire getting more and more is not doing any good to our behaviour, mainly when we’re an artist, entrepreneur or a skilful personality.
Agreed, we must have the vision to touch the next level in future, without it we can’t improve ourselves both on intellect and body level. Yet, we should be aware of the fact that we have most of the resources available to us, for achieving the next level.
We must embrace and accept that “I’m enough” to take on the world and ready to shine my light with whatever I have. Rather than always looking for another shiny object to move forward.
I leave you with a quote from Melanie Jade:
“ You are enough, just as you are. Each emotion you feel, everything in your life, everything you do or do not do…where you are and who you are right now is enough. It is perfect. You are perfect enough! ”
